The La Cala Resort, a 20 minute drive from our apartments, is simply a stunning golf complex. The only golf resort on the Costa to boast 3 18 hole championship courses, La Cala is a must when golfing in the region. Home to a David Leadbetter academy, La Cala comprises the Par 71 Europa course, the Par 72 Asia course and the Par 73 America course, all of which offer an excellent golfing experience.
Campo America - The toughest of the 3 courses La Cala has to offer. With tight fairways, water hazards and changes in elevation on most holes, straight hitting is the key to success on America. At nearly 5,800 metres off the yellow tees, America is relatively long for courses on the Costa, ensuring that while accuracy is required, it must be coupled with good distance. For those who struggle with the challengine nature of America, some stunning vistas are available, particularly from the elevated tee on the 16th hole.
Campo Asia - Another tough course, Asia also benefits from water on several holes. While not quite as tight as America, Asia is still a tough challenge which will require you to bring your A game to score well. Changes in elevation and small greens require pin point approach shots. In August 2007, Asia recently hosted the APG-Valle Romano Spanish Pairs Championship, won for the second consecutive year by Miguel Ángel Jiménez and Andrés Jiménez.
Campo Europa - The most forgiving of the La Cala courses, Europa has wider fairways allowing a little more freedom on the tee, along with slightly larger greens . While easier than it's sister courses, Europa which opened in 2005 is still no pushover. Utilising the Ojen river as it's main form of defense, Europa has water on 7 holes. Some stunning holes awaiton Europa, none more so than the beautiful 18th, big hitters may be tempted to try and reach the green on this downhill par 4, however any wayward tee shot will be punished.
